Rosalie McGovern

Rosalie McGovern (Chair)
Vice President, Direct Marketing
Sick Kids Foundation

Rosalie joined the Foundation in 2010 with a mandate to set the strategy to acquire, retain and manage donors in a diverse range of direct marketing channels in support of the Hospital for Sick Children.

From 2007 to 2010, she was at Canada Post as General Manager of Marketing and Business Development in the Direct Marketing Line of Business, leveraging her experience to help raise the profile of CPC in the marketing community and improve the effectiveness of their marketing activities. Rosalie was Director, Marketing Strategy at RBC from 2000 to 2007.

Prior to going ‘client side’, Rosalie spent the 90’s with top agencies in Canada and the US, including establishing the McCann Relationship Marketing office in San Francisco and as Vice President, Group Account Director at MacLaren McCann Relationship Marketing in Toronto.

Rosalie is currently the Chair of the Canadian Marketing Association’s Direct Marketing Council and was an instructor for the CMA’s Advanced Marketing Program. Rosalie has a BA in Economics from McMaster University.

Robin Whalen

Direct Response Marketing has been a professional passion of Robin’s for over 10 years. Perhaps her love of ‘accountability’ stemmed from her roots as a U of T graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Law, Ethics and Society. Regardless of where it came from – Robin landed her first agency job in the Integrated Marketing Services division of Leo Burnett and has been hooked ever since.

Over the past decade Robin has worked at a number of agencies on accounts spanning a broad range of industries and categories. Her experience ranges from packaged goods and tourism to telco’s and the retail sector. She has taken a specific focus and interest in the domain of CRM working on programs for Kellogg’s, Cadbury, Bell, Purina and most recently, McNeil Consumer Products.

Robin started at MacLaren in April 2005 and is currently responsible for a number of integrated accounts including Ontario Lottery Group, Columbia House, Ministry of Research and Innovation and Ministry of Health Promotions. Robin also works closely with the CMA. In the past she chaired their annual Direct Marketing Conference and now works on the annual Business of Ideas Forum. In addition, she sits as a member of their Direct Marketing Council and volunteers time across a number of initiatives. Prior to joining MacLaren MRM, Robin was a Group Account Director at Publicis Canada and Grey Worldwide.

Melanie Cunningham

Melanie joined The DATA Group of Companies in late 2007 after eleven years as founding Partner of Wellspring Productions Inc., a database and integrated marketing agency.

DATA Group is Canada’s largest integrated document management company, with a powerful direct marketing talent team and platform to drive leading edge, web-enabled direct mail and integrated , multi-channel marketing programs. Melanie is the Executive owner of DATA’s direct marketing strategy, sales and client service teams, as well as DATA’s evolving brand.

As a database marketing expert, Melanie is a passionate DM advocate. She believes data-driven customer insight is the essential platform upon which high-yield marketing strategies, tactics, creative and integrated, multi-channel campaigns are built.

Melanie promotes a simple message, both as a leader at DATA Group and across the industry: direct marketing success begins with data and ends with results.

Michelle Gorman

Michelle is a creative, results-oriented executive with over 18 years experience enabling organizations through process and technology to drive business results. Specializing in marketing technology solutions, Michelle is responsible for leading our program enablement through campaign management, interactive development and deployment, and client support services.

Prior to Digital Cement, Michelle worked for Wunderman, one of the largest, most experienced marketing services networks as the VP, CRM Solutions and Intelligence. Michelle was responsible for the creation and growth of a data driven client services offering for direct marketing clients including global programs for Microsoft, Ford, Kraft, BP Fuels and Wyeth. Utilizing technology, she led the delivery of consulting services, development of turnkey CRM database solutions and marketing analytics.

Michelle’s additional experience includes VP, Client Solutions and Operations for a Microsoft Gold Certified systems integrator overseeing managed services agreements for Direct Energy, Bell Canada, Microsoft and NBC/Universal. Michelle also held progressive positions at BearingPoint/KPMG Consulting as a management consultant leading CRM, datawarehousing and business intelligence engagements for the Consumer, Industrial and Technology practices. She began her career as a contracts and management analyst for an industrial process control supplies company. Michelle studied Marketing Management and Advertising at British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Kevin Klein

Kevin is Managing Partner of the Consumer Intelligence Group (CIG), Canada’s newest data intelligence company. CIG provides integrated data processing and analytics services. Its proprietary processing platform gives CIG the ability to provide in-process analytical reporting that allows our clients to make better informed decisions regarding their prospecting campaigns that directly affects response and ROI. The platform also provides simplified remote analytical access to customer or third party data to better understand markets, behaviours and trends to provide competitive advantage in the development of campaigns, products, services and business strategy.

Kevin’s career has spanned over 16 years working with some of the largest direct marketers in Canada and has held senior positions with some of the best known direct mail partners in Canada including Acxiom, ICOM, a division of Epsilon Targeting and the Cornerstone Group of Companies.

Kevin’s expertise is in data manipulation and management, developing best-of-breed solutions for his clients.

Kevin is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University and a former member of CMA’s Database and Technology Intelligence Council.

Vish Ramkissoon

Vish Ramkissoon brings over 17 years of experience in Data Management and Analytics for the direct marketing industry. In September of 2009, Vish joined his colleague Jacob Ciesielski (former VP at Cornerstone) and Rob Van Velzen (President/Owner of the FSA Group) to start a new business venture. FSA Datalytics focuses on providing database marketing solutions and services across various industry verticals, expanding the current service offerings of the FSA Group.

Before joining FSA Datalytics, Vish served as Vice President at Cornerstone, where his responsibilities included delivering Data Optimization, Data Cleansing, Analytics and Data Integration Services. He also managed the IT infrastructure for a large North American consumer mail order company. While there, Vish was responsible for the development and implementation of new technologies, work processes and policies designed to increase efficiencies and reduce costs. In addition, Vish spearheaded the establishment of new offshore operations, including the technology infrastructure and the hiring and training of staff to manage the operation. Before that, Vish worked for a Canadian computer accessories cataloguer where he was the project lead for the direct mail and order processing systems.

Vish is a graduate of Seneca College of Applied Arts & Technology and has extensive post-graduate education in IT Systems, Project Management and People Management.

Martha Turner

As Assistant Vice President of Marketing Services and Campaign Management at Aviva Canada, Martha is responsible for overseeing B2B and B2B2C marketing at Aviva to ensure Aviva is well positioned as a market leader in the Canadian Property and Casualty Insurance sector. Aviva Canada is the 2nd largest P&C insurer in Canada and 5th largest in the world. Her B2C and B2B direct marketing experience spans 12 years with both client and agency experience working with Tier 1 companies to grow their businesses through robust marketing programs. Her passion lies with building complex strategic marketing programs that start and end with the customer that have proven and highly profitable returns. Before joining Aviva Canada, Martha was the Sr. Marketing Manager at ICOM Information and Communications.

Martha holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Toronto (O.I.S.E) and a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Western Ontario.
